It's been awhile since I have done a DIY project and I've been itching to do one. I got this gorgeous paper from Paper Source and I wanted to use it for some sort of decor purpose other than wrapping. Since we don't have a table runner, I thought this would be perfect to make one. The size (19 1/2" x 27" ) is big enough to cut into two pieces, attach and create a beautiful table runner.
Here's how to make it:
Supplies:
- Beautiful paper around the size of 19 1/2" x 27" (I got mine from Paper Source)
- Scissors
- Ruler
- Clear tape
Directions:
- Measure the paper and make a mark in the middle (width wise) at the top, middle and bottom (length wise) of the paper. Then draw a straight line connecting the marks with the ruler.
- Cut the paper in half following the line you made in step 1. Reference the first two photos below for step one and two.
- Also measure and cut off any logos at the bottom of the paper. If you do this for one piece, make sure you do this for the other as well so that they match in size.
- The paper I used is a double sided print. I attached the pieces together with tape on the side that I will end up putting face down. I also used clear tape just in case I'm in the mood to flip it over and use the other side. Also, make sure to have the direction of the prints going in opposite directions when you attach them, I find that it just looks better that way.
- After taping the two pieces together, flip it over and place on the table. Decorate it candles, flowers or any way you like!
Update: I've used this runner about four or five times now and it's still works great. Just keep it rolled up and put it in a place where it won't get bent.
