This china reminds me of something that came from the sea. Maybe that's why I love it so much. It's also hand painted gold...it's so pretty, I don't know how I'm going to eat off of it. I received this as a gift on Saturday and I was so delighted. The more I look at it, the more I fall in love with it. I'm also going to mix and match it with our regular china which I'm equally obsessed with.
I never thought I would be excited about spoons, forks and knives, but yet again, I surprise myself. Our flatware set is from Kate Spade. I feel so fancy for having all of these things...I guess I'm growing up. Finally, at 32...better late than never. Does this mean I'm becoming Susie homemaker or worse yet, Betty Draper? (Although, I don't completely hate Betty)...
Actually I have this fantasy that someday, I will be sort of a housewife/business owner/nomad...I can wake up at my leisure, work out, make a smoothie, answer my emails, work on the garden, do a post, clean, make dinner for Athan and I...then veg in front of the t.v. for a couple hours or read a book. We could go on a trip in a whim or maybe live in Thailand for a month. Now, I know this is a complete fantasy...owning a business takes a hell of a lot more work than I just described (which I totally don't mind doing since, well, I'm pretty addicted to blogging and am determined to turn this into a business)...and, there's no kids in this fantasy, which isn't very realistic.
However, getting all this china and kitchen stuff has really got me thinking I really want this fantasy!! Maybe we should buy the house I was born in for only $57,000...then I could live that life. ...Hmm. No, no...can't do that.
...but there are people living this life out there in the world...and I'm going to work my damnedest to make this happen. Any tips?
xoxo...Kate
side note: I just watched the movie Wanderlust over the weekend...so good. I highly recommend it.

That sounds like such a wonderful life you've described! And really gorgeous china. I love anything that reminds me of the sea. Keep working at it, and I know you'll get there.

Such a pretty plate! Thanks for the film recommendation too.
I think that it's possible to have any life you want- you just need to work super super hard to do it!
